There is nothing like the smoky aroma of a barbecue. Especially when you use healthy cuts of beef, poultry and
==>> wild fish like salmon.
But yeah, the savory smell of food barbecuing signifies the unofficial beginning of summer. If you need an excuse to barbecue, the month of May is entirely dedicated to all the foods we love, smoky aromas, fall-off-the-bone healthy beef , and delicious sauces.
How should you celebrate National Barbecue Month?
Easy…By hosting a barbecue for your family and friends, of course! I wanted to share some of my favorite recipes for grilling, as well as the products I would use at my own barbecue.

Anyway, the last time I grilled, this is exactly what I made, and plan to repeat in a couple of weeks on Memorial day.

I soaked my healthy beef in a delicious Barbecue Marinade with veggie kabobs on the side.
Try my Garlic and Onion Burger:
Ingredients
1 1/2 lb ground beef
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp minced onion
salt, to taste
pinch ground black pepper
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together the beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, salt, and black pepper.
2. Combine the mixture well then refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours to allow the garlic flavor to infuse the meat.
3. Form burgers into 4 1/2 inch thick patties.
4. Grill or shallow fry for 6 minutes on each side.
I always use grass-fed ground beef when making hamburgers. My favorite place to purchase grass-fed beef is from U.S. Wellness Meats. They have so much more than beef, too. Grass-fed lamb, bison and goat, grass-fed butter and cheese, free-range poultry…the list goes on. They even have hot dogs! These are by far the best hot dogs I’ve found…

Barbecue Marinade:
Ingredients
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons dill
1/2 teaspoon tarragon
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated lemon peel
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Salt to taste
Directions:
Heat the oil in a small saucepan (low heat). Add herbs, pepper, lemon peel. Let brew over very low heat for 4-5 minutes (do NOT cook). Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
Soak grass-fed beef in marinade before grilling.
Next time I make this I am adding 1 teaspoon of thyme to see how the flavors mix. Feel free to give that a try.
Squash, Tomato, Mushroom Kabobs
Ingredients
Zucchini
Yellow squash
Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Skewers
Directions:
1. Soak skewers in water for about 30 minutes.
2. Clean and cut squash, tomatoes, and mushrooms into pieces that will work well on kabobs.
3. When skewers are ready, put veggies on skewers.
4. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, and place on grill.
As you can see, fat burning eating is amazingly delicious. No need for “diet” food ever.
