Okay, I talk a lot about how processed food has no value, and in most cases, has dangerous additives an chemicals that cause future health diseases.
Don’t believe me?
Most nutrition experts advise that if you can’t pronounce an ingredient, it should not go in to your mouth.
Also if the ingredient panel is so long it takes several minutes to read, then, no, this item is not fit to eat.
But, relax, I’ll show you easy ways to ditch the junk. And over time you will want to choose real, delicious food you will like even better. Trust me and you will see.
First, what exactly is processed food? This is important to establish very clearly right up front.
Simply put, Let me say it in two different ways:
If it comes in a bag or a box, (or if the ingredient list is more than 1 or 2 in the list) then, this is made by a food manufacturer. It’s man-made, and it’s not natural. It’s fake…with unhealthy additives and preservatives.
The other way to look at the concept of “processed” is to imagine your grandmother’s day. And imagine the kind of food she set before her family.
Did she have snacks like potato chips?
Boxed sugar-laden cereals?
Did she have Boxed Macaroni and powdered so-called cheese to put on it?
How about weight loss products like fat free cookies, energy drinks or health bars?
I think you’re getting my point. Not that I want us to go back to the horse and buggy days.
Please…I like my indoor plumbing thank you very much…
Now, look. Don’t think this needs to happen overnight. If you decide to change your eating habits to get lean and healthy, you perhaps need to take your time…

Okay, so it took time. And I’m now not even interested in these foods…
Eventually, like me, you will come to a point when you will simply decide to not have the first chip. The first cookie or what ever your favorite junk food is…Eventually, over time, you will simply not put this stuff in your basket at the market. Especially when you start realizing how terrible processed food is for your waistline, for your pocket book, and for your long-term health.
Okay, so after we ditch the junk, what should go in your grocery basket?
The ideal food to eat to get lean and healthy is whole, natural food that your grandmother would recognize.
And I’m not talking about typical bird food-like weight loss or diet food.
I’m talking about eggs, avocados, nuts, organic meat and poultry, wile caught fish like salmon. You can have potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, sprouted grain breads, a variety of fruits and vegetables, even dark chocolate and red wine a couple times a week. No deprivation here.
