Last Friday I was glad I have this important skill and value (of organizing a grocery list ) because when my husband and I got back from a nice little get-away we had nothing to eat in the house.
Of course one of the tasks was to hit the grocery store to get food items based on my healthy food grocery list.
Now, this is nothing earth shattering, and it happens to all of us every week or so. We run out of fresh produce. Fresh fruit or good organic eggs, poultry, fish or meat.
But some absolutely do not do this. Don’t forget that permanent weight loss and healthy eating and good nutrition starts with

And a good healthy food grocery list is a must so you do not get sucked in by what the front of the box says. You know… All the deceptive advertising and health claims that are just marketing hype. Are you sucked in by their clever come-ons?
First thing is that all of us need to get organized and decide on
==>> what healthy food to feed the family.
Then we can make a grocery list based on these ideas. And then we are not enticed to buy junky, non-food items that make us fat and hurt our long-term health.
I’m always surprised at how most people simply do not plan ahead and have a grocery list they stick to. Not a wise idea if you want to save time, make the best choices for your waist line, and stay healthy in the long-term.
If this picture doesn’t move you, take a look at some other valuable reasons for having a grocery list to take to the store…
•It helps you avoid “emotional” purchases at the grocery store
(can you say huge advertising budgets of processed food companies?)
•It focuses your meals on freshly prepared, nutritionally viable choices not empty calorie processed (i.e., dead) food meals
•It helps you avoid
==>> fast food impulse purchases
•It helps you take control of your health
If you are truly ready to take the time to prepare fresh and healthy food, and serve the kind of meals for your family that will give you health and not health issues, then you need to get serious about meal planning and making a shopping list focused on whole, fresh, organic foods.
So, right now make a firm decision to keep an ongoing list of things you will need for the week. If you are too tempted by the junk at the grocery store, send your spouse who will not vary from the healthy food list.
