How Liquid Calories Can Make You Fat

I just got this email message from Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat newsletter…

HOW LIQUID CALORIES MAY BE MAKING us FAT… EVEN our FAVORITE PROTEIN DRINKS!?

This is amazing, but it does make sense.

According to Tom’s newsletter, at least seven epidemiological scientific research studies have uncovered strong evidence that there’s a connection between the lack of satiety and the consumption of liquid calories. In other words, drinking calories in liquid for such as fruit juice, or protein drinks, instead of eating them in solid form simply does not satisfy our body’s appetite centers.

The most popular form of liquid calorie drinks in the US is by far sodas.

Now running a close second are specialty and dessert coffees. Did you know that a 16 ounce Frappucino can contain 500 calories or even more! That’s one-third of a typical female’s daily calorie intake while on a fat loss program.

According to this research we tend to under estimate our calorie intake, and tend to consistently disregard liquid drinks even more. So, that 500 calorie coffee drink will be over looked. And we wonder why even with a healthy diet we’re not seeing results.

Well, it could very well be that liquid drink habit that could easily add 500 or more calories to our daily intake. And we haven’t even discussed alcohol.
